Entrepreneurship is a vital contributor to the economic and social development of South Africa. Multiple studies have demonstrated that the growth of an economy and job creation increasingly originate from small businesses rather than large enterprises. The development of an enabling environment that allows entrepreneurs to create businesses rapidly and to prosper is the platform for increased innovation and the creation of new and competitive markets. This talk will focus on the role of government in creating such an environment.
