Tagbo Agbazue

As a lawyer, Tagbo specialises in corporate governance in addition to broader issues pertaining to the long term sustainability and performance of corporations in Africa. He works as an advisor on corporate governance for major private and public sector corporations in Africa, inter-governmental organizations such as the World Bank and the UN, regional initiatives on Corporate, as well as for the governments of South Africa, Mozambique, Nigeria and Cameroon.

Tagbo is one of Africa's foremost experts on Corporate Governance, Business, Human Rights and Social Responsibility. A significant aspect of Tagbo's work involves undertaking reviews and assessments in respect of the effectiveness of management structures and boards, projects/initiatives and organisations. In this regard, Tagbo has developed significant proficiency in terms of designing tools for eliciting and analysing both quantitative and qualitative data, as well as mainstreaming the learning within respective organisations and supporting the development of organisational strategies and policies.

Tagbo is the Convener / Executive Chairman for Influence Africa and Executive Producer for influence Africa films’. He is a Visiting Scholar at Harvard Law School and a Research Fellow at the Law, Justice and Development Programme of the University of the Witwatersrand Law School. He sits on the Institute of Directors' Public Sector Governance Committee (South Africa) and the steering committee of the Business Action Against Corruption (BAAC). Tagbo has presented on corporate governance, corporate social responsibility and business and human rights in well over 30 countries across the globe. He is a recipient of the 2008 "Millstein Rising Star of Corporate Governance Award" by Yale University's Millstein Centre for Corporate Governance and Performance.
